DO'S AND DONT'S - If someone loses consciousness (passes out) after drinking too much:
DO
keep them on their side in the recovery position – this will
prevent them from choking on their own sick and allow them to breathe
more easily
DON’T run away and leave the
person – they need you’re help and without it, they might not
make it
DO call an ambulance on
999
DON’T hold back any
information that might help the paramedics for example if the person
has taken any other drugs
DO make sure they are
breathing – and their mouth and airways are clear
DO
start mouth to mouth resuscitation if they stop breathing if you know
how and the ambulance hasn’t yet arrived
DO loosen any tight
clothing that could restrict their breathing
DO keep them warm with a
blanket or coat – if their skin is cold and almost blue this could
be a sign that they have alcohol poisoning!
DON’T put them to bed to let
them sleep it off. They might not wake up again
