What does the training involve?
By taking part in the training sessions you will learn about drugs, alcohol and sexual health – different types, effects and ways to stay safe.
We’ll also talk to you about peer education, challenging attitudes, your rights, how to deal with difficult situations and lots more!
“We learn something new every week in training and we like getting the chance to pass that information onto others. They always tell us that they’ve found out something that they didn’t know before and that makes it worthwhile.” – Sara, age 18
“The training is enjoyable because the staff don’t overload you with too much information.” – Craig, age 16
Don’t worry; we don’t expect you to deliver any training until you’re ready! Volunteers are not asked to do anything that they don’t feel comfortable doing. Only you will know when you are ready and until then we’ll continue to support you.
Not every volunteer has to be brilliant at delivering peer education, there are lots of jobs that volunteers can do and lots of reasons why people volunteer.
